Bhopal, Sep 29 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayavargiya announced that the state government is implementing forward-thinking initiatives to support students pursuing innovations in science disciplines.
Vijayavargiya spoke during the closing ceremony of the 12th Bhopal Science Fair, held at the Barkatullah University campus on Monday. As the chief guest of the event, he stressed that science propels development.
This event was organized in collaboration with Vigyan Bharati (Madhya Bharat Chapter), the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, and Barkatullah University.
In his address to the audience of students and educators, Vijayavargiya noted that scientific institutions are receiving substantial backing from both the central and state governments.
“To inspire students to delve into science and technology, both the state and central governments have instituted various programs, benefiting millions of students,” the Minister remarked.
Highlighting the COVID-19 pandemic, Vijayavargiya recalled how Prime Minister Narendra Modi motivated Indian scientists to create medicines and vaccines for the virus.
“With this support, India not only manufactured vaccines but also showcased its scientific prowess globally. The vaccines were distributed nationwide and to many deserving nations,” he stated.
Vijayavargiya pointed out that over the last 11 years, India has made remarkable strides in defense research and has achieved a significant degree of self-reliance in defense supplies.
Commenting on Ayurveda, he noted that India’s ancient practices have gained international acclaim, with numerous countries now embracing Ayurveda.
The Minister also encouraged students to apply science in innovative ways. The event included insights from esteemed scientist and former director Shankar Vinayak Nakhe.
Furthermore, Vijayavargiya advocated for organic and natural farming, urging the citizens of the state to shift away from chemical fertilizers, which have harmed agricultural land, emphasizing the importance of promoting sustainable farming practices.
