As informed by Polish news outlet TVN24, the spokesperson for Tramwaje Warszawskie (Warsaw Trams), Witold Urbanowicz, mentioned, "The accident involved two trams and a bus. It appears that tram number 4 struck the bus, which subsequently hit the tram at a service crossing."
Warsaw's mayor, Rafal Trzaskowski, shared a statement on X, indicating that the prosecutor's office is currently investigating the incident's causes. He noted that emergency response teams and traffic authorities were dispatched promptly to assist at the scene.
The mayor further elaborated, "An accident occurred this morning on Aleja Solidarności between Bank Square and the Old Town, involving the 160 bus line, a technical tram, and tram line 4. The prosecutor's office is thoroughly investigating the incident's causes, and emergency services responded immediately to provide necessary assistance."
In total, over 20 individuals sustained injuries, all of whom are now under medical care. Efforts are ongoing to restore full traffic flow. Meanwhile, public transport routes from the bridge area are being redirected to alternative paths. Residents are advised to steer clear of the accident location for the time being, he added.
Later, Warsaw Police confirmed, "The disruptions on Aleja Solidarnosci have concluded. Road and tram services resumed at 10:50. A total of 24 people were injured, with 16 individuals transported to the hospital. Law enforcement is examining the precise details and reasons behind this incident."

Earlier, the police had reported, "Aleja Solidarnosci at numbers 64-68 heading towards Plac Bankowy is completely obstructed. Officers are managing traffic and rerouting drivers via the W-Z route.
