Bhopal, April 3 (NationPress) A collision involving two buses transpired on Thursday along the Tikamgarh-Sagar route close to the Baragaon police station in Tikamgarh district, resulting in injuries to ten individuals.
The incident occurred mere meters from the police station and was reported by officials, who indicated that poor visibility due to hazy weather and light drizzling in the morning hours contributed to the mishap.
Kailash Patel, the traffic inspector for Tikamgarh, noted that both bus drivers were navigating a blind turn on a table-top road.
During this maneuver, the rear of one bus collided with the front of the other, causing one bus to fall into a five-foot-deep roadside trench.
Both buses belong to the same private operator. This unfortunate incident took place near the CM Rise School, now known as Sandipani Vidyalaya, around 7 a.m.
One bus, traveling from Tikamgarh to Sagar, had several passengers onboard, with ten of them suffering serious injuries. Emergency services swiftly transported all wounded individuals to the Baragaon Community Health Center for immediate medical attention.
Those in need of advanced treatment were later referred to the Tikamgarh District Hospital. Medical professionals at the Baragaon Government Hospital reported that one person is in critical condition.
The Baragaon Police provided a comprehensive report on the injured passengers, identifying them as Ramkali (32), Bhumani Bai (22), Lakhan Ahirwar (24), Gokul Ahirwar (20), Manoj Ahirwar (23), Prem Bai (27), Sheela (40), Ganeshi Ahirwar (34), Nandkishore (30), and Monu (40).
The passengers, hailing from Sagar, Gadhakota, and Ghuwara, were reportedly returning to their villages after working as laborers in Gwalior.
The bus cleaner, also injured, mentioned that the drivers managed to avert a head-on collision, which could have led to far more severe consequences.
While the light drizzle and reduced visibility have been noted as contributing factors, the police clarified that no immediate fault has been assigned.
Nonetheless, a thorough investigation is currently underway to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding the collision.
