Uttarkashi, Jan 15 (NationPress) A serious bus accident transpired in Uttarakhand on Tuesday morning when a vehicle with 30 passengers overturned close to Jakhol village in Uttarkashi. The incident occurred near Sunkundi village, merely 2 km from Jakhol. Seven individuals were injured, while the remaining passengers are reported to be unharmed.

The injured were swiftly transported to the Primary Health Center in Mori for urgent medical attention, as stated by rescue personnel.

The bus, managed by the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation, was en route from Dehradun to Jakhol when it overturned on the roadway's edge during a turn.

An ambulance was promptly dispatched from Mori to the accident scene. District Magistrate Dr. Meherban Singh Bisht has instructed local authorities to accelerate relief and rescue operations and to guarantee appropriate medical care for the injured.

Teams from the Health Department, Revenue Police Department, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed to oversee rescue and relief initiatives.

This accident follows closely on the heels of another incident that occurred just two days prior, where a bus fell into a 100-meter-deep gorge in Pauri Garhwal's Srinagar district, resulting in six fatalities and 22 injuries.

Moreover, last month, a devastating accident in Nainital district of Uttarakhand resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including an 8-year-old boy, when a bus plunged into a 500-foot gorge while attempting to avoid a collision with a car.

In that tragedy, three were killed instantly, and the young boy succumbed to his injuries subsequently. Twenty-four others, including the driver, suffered injuries.

This sequence of bus accidents in the area raises serious concerns about road safety and the state of transportation infrastructure in Uttarakhand.

Last November, a bus carrying over 50 passengers fell into a 200-meter gorge in Almora, leading to the deaths of 34 individuals, including children, marking one of the gravest tragedies in the state in recent history.
