Tragic Incident in Uttarakhand: Five Lives Lost as Bus Plunges into 100-Meter Gorge

Pauri Garhwal (Uttarakhand), Jan 12 (NationPress) Five individuals have tragically lost their lives and more than 15 others sustained injuries after a bus plummeted into a steep gorge in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand on Sunday.

Rescue and relief operations are currently in progress.

Upon receiving news of the incident, police officials promptly arrived at the scene. The administration has commenced rescue efforts. The injured individuals are being transported to the District Hospital Pauri with the assistance of police and local residents.

Initial reports indicate that the private bus lost control and fell approximately 100 meters down the slope.

The bus veered off the road near Satyakhal, along the route from Pauri city to the Central School. After the fall, it collided with a tree, which halted its descent. The vehicle was severely damaged.

At the time of the accident, the bus was carrying a substantial number of passengers.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the slippery road conditions and the vehicle's excessive speed may have contributed to the accident. Five fatalities have been confirmed, and over 15 people are reported injured.

At the scene, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local police, and community members are all participating in the rescue and relief efforts.
