Jabalpur/Chhindwara, March 27 (NationPress) A group of experienced medical professionals, including surgeons from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, has reached the Chhindwara district hospital to provide care for individuals injured in a late-night incident. Tragically, ten lives were lost and 39 people sustained injuries after the bus they were on collided head-on with a pickup truck on Thursday night.

Dr. Sushil Dubey, the Civil Surgeon at Chhindwara district hospital, informed IANS on Friday that a team of seven senior doctors arrived late on Thursday night to support the local medical personnel.

“The doctors from Jabalpur are currently assessing all the injured individuals, and treatment is being guided by the results of CT scans,” he stated.

Rakesh Singh, the Public Works Department (PWD) Minister of Madhya Pradesh and the Minister in charge of Chhindwara, visited the hospital shortly after midnight from Jabalpur to evaluate the situation.

Two critically injured victims have been transferred to Nagpur Medical College, while the others are receiving treatment at the Chhindwara district hospital. The evaluation process is ongoing, based on CT scan findings.

It is noteworthy that the accident transpired late Thursday night as the bus was attempting to overtake another vehicle, resulting in a serious head-on collision with a pickup truck laden with garlic, causing the bus to overturn.

The victims were returning from the Chief Minister's beneficiary program held in the nearby town of Saunsar.

Initial investigations indicate that excessive speed and negligence during the overtaking maneuver were key factors contributing to the tragedy.

The district administration has mandated a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
