Having arrived at Chhindwara airport around 3 p.m. after being in Delhi, Chief Minister Yadav made his way to Karer village in Mohkhed tehsil. There, he extended his condolences to the families of the deceased from the tragic bus accident.
During his visit, the Chief Minister sat on the ground with grieving family members, sharing in their sorrow and promising that the government would extend all necessary support during this difficult time.
In a notable gesture, Chief Minister Yadav announced a financial aid of Rs 4 lakh for each family of the deceased, while Rs 1 lakh would be allocated to those suffering serious injuries and undergoing medical treatment.
Furthermore, CM Yadav assured that every injured individual would receive the best possible medical care at no cost. A team of senior physicians, including surgeons from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College in Jabalpur, arrived late Thursday to assist.
Senior BJP leader and Minister-in-charge for Chhindwara, Rakesh Singh, also came to the district hospital from Jabalpur late Thursday, overseeing arrangements to guarantee that all injured individuals received appropriate care.
“I personally met with each patient injured in the accident to assess their health based on their medical reports. Most patients indicated improvements in their health since yesterday. I have instructed the doctors and administrative staff to ensure comprehensive treatment without any deficiencies,” stated Rakesh Singh.
The accident transpired on Thursday night when a bus attempted to overtake another vehicle, leading to a severe head-on collision with a pickup truck loaded with garlic, which caused the bus to overturn.
The victims were returning from a beneficiary program held by the Chief Minister in the nearby town of Saunsar.
Initial investigations indicate that excessive speed and negligence during the overtaking maneuver were the primary causes of the accident.
