The Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) reported that the seismic event struck the Sindirgi district on Sunday at 7:53 p.m. local time (1653 GMT).
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that an 81-year-old victim succumbed to injuries after being rescued by emergency personnel. He added that numerous people have sustained injuries and over 15 structures have collapsed.
