Cambodia's Senate Leader Commences Official Journey to Four Islamic Nations

Phnom Penh, Dec 8 (NationPress) Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who serves as the President of Cambodia's Senate, has embarked on a week-long official journey to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from December 8 to 14.
During his visit to Saudi Arabia, Hun Sen is expected to engage in discussions with Speaker of the Consultative Council Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, as mentioned in the Senate's press announcement. In Qatar, he plans to converse with Speaker of Shura Council Hassan bin Abdulla Al-Ghanim and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
In Turkey, he will hold a bilateral dialogue with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as reported in the press release. In the UAE, he is scheduled to meet with Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, according to the Xinhua news agency.
The press release emphasized that Samdech Techo Hun Sen's official visit to these friendly nations highlights the importance of parliamentary diplomacy.
It will play a vital role in enhancing and broadening the relationships of friendship, solidarity, and collaboration between Cambodia's legislative body and those of the allied countries, fostering peace, stability, and security both regionally and globally.
At the age of 72, Hun Sen assumed the role of President of the Senate in April 2024 after resigning from his position as Prime Minister in August 2023.
