Danish Prime Minister Advocates for Enhanced Worker Safety Following Biogas Plant Tragedy

Oslo, Nov 30 (NationPress) Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen urged for enhanced working conditions for foreign workers after a tragic incident at a biogas facility on Funen Island earlier this week.
Describing the situation as deeply tragic, Frederiksen stressed the pressing necessity for improved safety protocols in workplaces, according to Xinhua news agency.
The incident, which transpired on Tuesday evening at the Flemlose Biogas Plant, located around 200 km west of Copenhagen, resulted in the deaths of three workers, two from Romania and one from Belgium. Many others sustained serious injuries.
"We require adequate working conditions, not just concerning wages but also regarding safety. It cannot be acceptable for individuals to risk their lives just to earn a living," Frederiksen stated.
Initial investigations indicate that the accident occurred during operations involving the plant's silo. Authorities are working together with relevant agencies to ascertain the precise cause, although no additional information has been disclosed.
The Flemlose Biogas Plant, established by three local farmers, generates up to 7 million cubic meters of gas each year for Denmark's natural gas network, as per local media reports.
