Discussions Between Iranian and Lebanese Parliament Leaders on Israel-Lebanon Ceasefire

Tehran, December 1 (NationPress) Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri engaged in discussions regarding the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
During a phone conversation on Saturday, the two leaders also reviewed the current situation in Lebanon following the ceasefire that was implemented early Wednesday, as reported by the Xinhua news agency, citing the Iranian parliament's ICANA news agency.
Qalibaf expressed his contentment with the end of hostilities in Lebanon, commending his Lebanese counterpart for his significant and impactful role in achieving the ceasefire amid challenging circumstances.
He noted that Iran has consistently supported the government, parliament, people, and resistance of Lebanon, as well as their decisions, while cautioning against Israel's potential violations of the ceasefire.
Qalibaf also highlighted recent assaults by Takfiri terrorist groups in Syria, asserting that these actions align with Israel's goals. He stressed the importance of addressing the current situation in the West Asia region with seriousness and collaboration.
On his part, the Lebanese parliament speaker acknowledged Iran's generous assistance to his country.
Berri remarked that, with Iran's support, Lebanon successfully restrained Israel, which he described as a ferocious predator. He mentioned that southern Lebanon, along with the Beqaa and Dahieh regions, are currently in a favorable condition.
As per the ceasefire agreement, the Lebanese army will regain control of its territory within the next 60 days, Israel will gradually withdraw, and civilians will be allowed to return home.
