EAM Jaishankar Optimistic About Strengthening India-US Ties Following Embassy Meeting

Washington, Dec 28 (NationPress) External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar has successfully completed a two-day conference with the team at the Indian Embassy in the United States along with Consuls General, emphasizing his confidence in the discussions that will bolster the India-US partnership.

EAM Jaishankar shared on Friday via X, "I have concluded a highly productive two-day conference with the @IndianEmbassyUS team and our Consuls General in Washington DC. I am optimistic from the discussions that the ongoing development of the India-US partnership will be accelerated."

According to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar is in the US from December 24 to 29.

On Thursday, EAM Jaishankar engaged with the US National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, in Washington, DC.

They held extensive discussions regarding the evolution of the India-US strategic partnership and exchanged perspectives on current regional and global dynamics.

Additionally, Jaishankar met with his US counterpart Antony Blinken in Washington, DC on Thursday.

The two officials assessed the progress of the India-US relationship over the last four years and concurred that collaboration has grown stronger across various sectors.

EAM Jaishankar expressed his belief that the relationship between India and the US will benefit both nations and contribute positively to global interests.

During his visit, he also met with India's Ambassador to the US, Vinay Kwatra, along with Consul Generals from New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, and Atlanta.

The discussions focused on opportunities to deepen the India-US partnership, particularly in technology, trade, and investment.

This visit by the EAM follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's trip to the US in September, where he participated in the fourth Quad Leaders' Summit in Wilmington, Delaware.

High-level interactions between the US and India have become increasingly frequent.

Earlier this week, senior diplomats from both nations, including Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma, underscored the strengthening of bilateral relations between India and the US.

The bilateral relations between India and the US have evolved into a global strategic partnership, founded on shared democratic principles and a growing alignment of interests concerning bilateral, regional, and global matters.

Consistent high-level political visits have provided ongoing momentum for bilateral cooperation, while the extensive and continually expanding dialogue framework has created a sustainable avenue for India-US engagement.
