Washington, Feb 15 (NationPress) Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence for the US, expressed her enthusiasm for enhancing the US-India relationship in a recent post on X. She stated, “It was an honor to welcome India’s Prime Minister @narendramodi back to the United States, and I look forward to further strengthening the US-India friendship,” in a message shared on Friday.

Gabbard's post came in reply to the Prime Minister’s update regarding their meeting earlier that week.

“Met USA’s Director of National Intelligence, @TulsiGabbard in Washington DC. Congratulated her on her confirmation. Discussed various aspects of the India-USA friendship, of which she has always been a passionate advocate,” Modi posted.

During his recent visit, Gabbard was the Prime Minister’s first prominent guest. She met him at Blair House, a US government facility where Modi resided, shortly after his arrival and just hours following her own confirmation.

Gabbard, who now holds the position of the country’s top intelligence officer, has a long-standing history with India. In her previous role as a member of the US House of Representatives, she co-chaired the India Caucus as a Democrat, fostering a personal bond with Modi, who sent gifts through an emissary for her wedding in 2015 in Hawaii.

The Trump administration includes two former co-chairs of the India Caucus: Mike Waltz, the national security adviser, and Gabbard. Waltz, a former Republican House member, co-chaired the caucus alongside Ro Khanna, a Democrat.

Waltz visited Modi the following morning, after which Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of SpaceX and Tesla, came with his family, including his five-year-old son, who has been seen in various settings, from the Oval Office to the US Capitol. Vivek Ramaswamy was the third notable visitor to Blair House.
