"Our nations will continue working closely for the benefit of our people and for a brighter future for our planet," PM Modi expressed on X.

On Wednesday, Gabbard took her oath of office as the Director of National Intelligence in the Oval Office, shortly after her Senate confirmation, as reported by US media.

Attorney General Pam Bondi administered the oath to Gabbard, whom Trump described as "an American of extraordinary courage and patriotism." He emphasized her three deployments in the Army National Guard and highlighted her experience as a former Democratic Congresswoman.

At 43 years old, Gabbard, previously a Democratic Congresswoman from Hawaii, encountered bipartisan skepticism regarding her capability to manage the nation's spy agencies.

Upon her swearing-in, Gabbard expressed gratitude to the President for his confidence in her and pledged to "refocus our intelligence community."

She noted, "Unfortunately, the American people have very little trust in the intelligence community, largely due to the weaponization and politicization of an entity that should be solely focused on safeguarding our national security," stated the new Intelligence Chief.

The Senate confirmed her nomination with a 52-48 vote after two months of deliberation on her qualifications to lead the intelligence agencies and prepare Trump’s daily intelligence brief.
