As per ARY News, the deceased included a husband and wife along with four other family members.
Local authorities stated that the explosion caused the roof of an old and crumbling house to collapse, trapping several individuals beneath the debris.
Bilal Ahmad Faizi, spokesperson for Rescue 1122 KP, informed Xinhua news agency that the explosion took place late Friday in Irum Colony, a residential locality in Mardan district.
"The blast led to the failure of a two-story structure, claiming six lives and seriously injuring two young girls," Faizi remarked.
He noted that rescue teams acted promptly, initiating an operation to recover the victims. "Eight individuals, including six fatalities and two injured, were extracted from the rubble," he added.
Faizi mentioned that over 100 personnel were involved in the operation, which lasted for seven hours, with the deceased and injured being transported to Mardan Medical Complex.
