New Delhi, June 10 (NationPress) The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, shared that he engaged in profound discussions with prominent business leaders during his visit to Switzerland. These conversations revolved around exciting prospects, collaborations, and new pathways for trade and investment between the two nations.
In a recent post on the social media platform X, the minister expressed his enthusiasm about an engaging evening spent with Indian business representatives.
“I had insightful conversations on thrilling opportunities, partnerships, and new avenues for trade and investment between India and Switzerland, emerging from the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement,” he shared.
Starting his official tour to Switzerland on Monday, which will span five days, Goyal is also set to visit Sweden to bolster trade relationships.
“Today was a remarkable experience as I toured the Swiss Parliament and met my friend @ParmelinG, the Swiss Federal Councillor. I had the chance to view exquisite lithograph paintings, titled Cortège, created by the esteemed Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier during his stay in Chandigarh in 1960,” noted the minister.
Additionally, he connected with the Chairman and Committee Members of the newly formed ICAI Switzerland Zurich Chapter.
“We engaged in detailed discussions on promoting India's fintech expertise and collaboration possibilities in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) sector, particularly focusing on the innovative startup ecosystem,” he stated.
Goyal also met with CEOs from Swiss SMEs specializing in precision engineering, machine tools, and advanced manufacturing, emphasizing India’s robust manufacturing ecosystem and exploring partnership opportunities while highlighting India’s potential as a regional hub for global markets.
In a series of sectoral meetings, he interacted with CEOs from several Swiss pharmaceutical and life sciences firms that are keen on investing in India.
“I had an exciting dialogue regarding their vision and growth strategies. It was encouraging to hear their positive feedback on India’s growth potential, innovation ecosystem, and the success of Make in India,” remarked the minister.
