Hezbollah Chief Proclaims 'Significant Triumph' Against Israel

Beirut, Nov 30 (NationPress) Hezbollah's leader, Naim Qassem, proclaimed a 'significant triumph for the resistance', asserting that his organization had effectively thwarted Israel's attempts to eradicate Hezbollah and weaken the resistance.
'We triumphed because we prevented the enemy from dismantling Hezbollah and the resistance', Qassem stated during his initial televised address following the ceasefire with Israel that commenced early Wednesday morning, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
Reflecting on the Israeli ground offensive that initiated 64 days ago, Qassem recognized that the initial assaults had resulted in approximately ten days of confusion within Hezbollah. However, he underscored that the group swiftly regrouped, restored its strength, and reestablished its command and control systems, ultimately launching strikes on Israel's domestic front.
Qassem characterized the outcome as 'a significant triumph for the resistance over the Israeli adversary, surpassing even the victory of the July 2006 conflict', referencing the 34-day confrontation between Hezbollah and Israel that concluded with a United Nations-brokered ceasefire.
On the ceasefire agreement, Qassem clarified that it 'is not a treaty or a new accord, but rather a framework to implement UN Resolution 1701'.
He also emphasized the cooperation between Hezbollah and the Lebanese army in guaranteeing the execution of the agreement. 'The army will oversee security within Lebanon and along its borders, while the resistance remains robust and retains its right to self-defense', he asserted.
Qassem further reiterated Hezbollah's unwavering dedication to Palestine, indicating that this commitment will persist through various means.
The Israeli cabinet approved a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon on Tuesday night, paving the way for the conclusion of a nearly 14-month conflict significantly tied to the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip.
