Shanghai, Oct 14 (NationPress) A significant milestone for India's linguistic culture and its expanding influence abroad was marked when India's Ambassador to China, Pradeep Kumar Rawat, honored an educator for her contributions to Hindi instruction at a prestigious British school in Shanghai.

Hindi education is establishing roots in China – a cultural achievement! Ambassador Rawat, alongside Consul General in Shanghai Pratik Mathur, recognized Smt. Bhavya Mehta from the esteemed Britannica International Senior Secondary School, the pioneering institution in the region's international school network to advocate for Hindi language education among its young learners.

This moment was particularly meaningful as Mehta is the daughter of India's courageous war hero, Kirti Chakra Brigadier Ravi Datt Mehta, as noted by the Consulate General of India in Shanghai.

“Hindi instruction at the primary level at BIS now complements the existing Hindi programs at universities in China, including Fudan, SISU, Tsinghua, and Peking University,” the post elaborated.

Ambassador Rawat and Mathur also engaged with leading Chinese scholars in international relations, such as Yang Jiemian, President Emeritus, and Chen Dongxiao, among other senior members at the Shanghai Institutes of International Studies (SIIS). They had in-depth discussions on mutual interests, including global governance and the multilateral reform, while also highlighting India's significant position in fostering a fair world order.

“Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat and CG Pratik Mathur were thrilled to engage with esteemed scholars like Dr. Yang Jiemian, President Emeritus, and Prof. Chen Dongxiao at the SIIS,” the Indian Consulate General in Shanghai shared on X.

“The discussions at this prominent Chinese think tank covered a wide array of topics of shared interest, such as global governance and multilateral reforms, recognizing India's pivotal role in creating a fair global framework,” it added.

Rawat also connected with community leaders during a luncheon organized by the Indian Association for Shanghai and representatives of the Indian leadership in global corporations located in the Eastern Shanghai Region. These talks underscored the Indian diaspora's crucial role in fostering connections and friendships with nations in the area.
