Sanaa, April 14 (NationPress) The Houthi movement in Yemen has declared that it successfully shot down yet another US MQ-9 drone, marking the 19th such incident since November 2023.

According to a statement from Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea, the drone was intercepted while conducting hostile operations in the airspace of Hajjah province in northwestern Yemen. This information was broadcast on the Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV.

Sarea mentioned that a locally developed surface-to-air missile was used to down the drone, emphasizing that the ongoing US aggression has not diminished the military capabilities of the Houthi group.

The statement also reiterated the group's commitment to the Palestinian cause, indicating that their operations would persist until the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip ceases and the blockade is lifted.

In response, the United States resumed its air operations against Houthi forces on March 15, asserting that these strikes aimed to deter the group from launching attacks on Israeli and US naval forces in the Red Sea.

Furthermore, recent US airstrikes on the outskirts of Yemen's capital, Sanaa, have increased the death toll to six, with 13 individuals injured, according to updates from Houthi-run health authorities.

The airstrikes targeted a ceramic factory in the Bani Matar district, as reported by local residents and health officials. The sound of fighter jets was notably heard throughout Sanaa before and after the strikes.

Additively, US warplanes conducted two more strikes in the northern provinces of Marib and Al-Jawf, according to reports from al-Masirah TV. These recent air raids have raised the total number of US strikes in northern Yemen on that day to 25.

The Houthis, controlling extensive regions of northern Yemen, have been targeting Israeli interests since November 2023 to express support for Palestinians in Gaza.
