Tel Aviv, June 20 (NationPress) The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has reported the destruction of more than 35 missile storage and launch facilities located in the Tiberias and Kermanshah regions of Iran, following coordinated strikes by over 25 Israeli Air Force fighter jets early Friday morning.
"This morning, our Air Force executed a series of attacks aimed at military targets associated with the Iranian regime in Kermanshah and Tiberias, utilizing precise intelligence from our Intelligence Branch. This operation involved over 25 fighter jets targeting more than 35 missile storage and launch facilities in these areas of Iran," the IDF stated in a post on X.
The IDF also disclosed that several Iranian missile systems and radar installations in the Isfahan and Tehran regions, suspected of targeting Israeli aircraft, were also struck.
“This airstrike enhances the IDF's operational freedom in Iranian airspace, especially following the breakthrough towards Tehran. Our fighter jets are actively conducting operations within Iranian skies and targeting military installations of the Iranian regime throughout western and central Iran. We remain committed to expanding our air operation capabilities in Iranian skies while striving for air superiority,” the IDF added.
Additionally, the IDF indicated that more than 50 Israeli fighter jets conducted assaults on specific sites linked to Iran's nuclear weapons program and missile component production facilities in Tehran overnight.
In another significant update, the Israeli military confirmed it had recently targeted three missile launchers prepared to be fired from Iran into Israeli territory, along with a military commander involved in the launch plans.
Earlier that day, the IDF announced it had executed a series of airstrikes in Tehran, targeting numerous sites associated with Iran's missile and nuclear weapons initiatives. Among the principal targets were military industrial facilities engaged in missile production and the headquarters of Iran's Organisation of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND).
"Over 60 Air Force fighter jets assaulted numerous military targets in Iran overnight (Thursday) using approximately 120 munitions, based on precise intelligence. Several missile manufacturing facilities in the Tehran area were engaged during the night," the IDF reported in a post on X.
"These installations have been developed over years and represent the industrial backbone of the Iranian Ministry of Defence. The attacks included military industrial facilities for missile component production and sites for the creation of raw materials essential for crafting rocket engines," the post elaborated.
The IDF confirmed that part of these strikes aimed to disrupt the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons development, notably targeting the SPND headquarters in Tehran.
"The SPND headquarters is dedicated to advancing technologies and weapons for the Iranian regime's military capabilities, established in 2011 by Fakhri Zadeh, the architect of Iran's nuclear weapons program," stated the IDF.
The ongoing conflict between the two nations escalated last Friday when Netanyahu announced 'Operation Rising Lion,' a targeted military initiative aimed at countering the Iranian nuclear threat to Israel's existence. This announcement triggered immediate and forceful responses from Tehran, pushing the region closer to a potential larger conflict.
