Admiral Tripathi's Myanmar visit: India-Myanmar naval ties and Bay of Bengal security
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi concluded a four-day official visit to Myanmar, holding high-level meetings with senior military and defence officials in Naypyitaw and Yangon to deepen bilateral naval cooperation and bolster maritime security in the Bay of Bengal. On 4 May 2026, Admiral Tripathi met Myanmar Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Htein Win in Naypyitaw, where he was received with a ceremonial Guard of Honour. Talks covered maritime engagement opportunities, capacity building, training exchanges, Mobile Training Teams (MTTs), hydrography, and enhancing interoperability between the two navies. According to the Indian Navy spokesperson, the meeting
