Johannesburg, Nov 22 (NationPress) On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that the ties between India and France continue to act as a significant force for global good during his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the G20 Summit in South Africa's Johannesburg.

"I was pleased to engage with President Macron at the Johannesburg G20 Summit. Our discussions covered various topics, reinforcing that India–France relations are indeed a force for global good," PM Modi shared on X following their meeting.

The two leaders previously connected via phone in September, discussing efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and reiterating India’s steadfast commitment to a peaceful resolution, aiming for the restoration of peace and stability in the region.

Moreover, they had another phone conversation on August 21 to coordinate their positions regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine, working towards achieving a fair and lasting peace.

Throughout their recent dialogues, they reviewed the positive developments in bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including economic, defense, science, technology, and space. They reaffirmed their dedication to further strengthening the India-France Strategic Partnership, aligned with the Horizon 2047 Roadmap, the Indo-Pacific Roadmap, and the Defense Industrial Roadmap.

PM Modi expressed gratitude to President Macron for accepting the invitation to the AI Impact Summit hosted by India in February 2026, eagerly anticipating the visit of the French leader to India.

"In terms of trade, we agreed to bolster our economic exchanges and our strategic partnership across all domains—this is essential for our sovereignty and independence. Building on the AI Action Summit held in Paris last February, we are focused on ensuring the success of the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi in 2026.
