New Delhi, Aug 31 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated the growing impact of Indian culture globally, highlighting instances from Italy, Canada, and Russia, where the recognition and admiration for Indian customs are progressively increasing.
During the 125th episode of his monthly radio broadcast 'Mann Ki Baat', he stated, "No matter where you travel across the globe, the traces of Indian culture are evident, and this influence is not confined to major cities but can also be found in smaller towns."
Referring to an event in Italy, he noted, "In a quaint town of Italy — Camp-Rotondo, a statue of Maharishi Valmiki was unveiled. Numerous notable figures from the region, including the local mayor, participated in this ceremony."
He continued, "The Indian diaspora in Camp-Rotondo is thrilled about the installation of Maharishi Valmiki’s statue. His messages serve as an inspiration to us all."
PM Modi also mentioned a recent event in Canada, where, earlier this month, a 51-foot-tall statue of Lord Shri Ram was inaugurated in Mississauga.
"The event was met with great enthusiasm, and videos showcasing the magnificent statue of Lord Shri Ram circulated widely on social media," he remarked.
Turning to Russia, the Prime Minister highlighted the increasing interest in the Ramayana.
"The passion for the Ramayana and Indian culture is permeating every corner of the globe. A notable city in Russia — Vladivostok — is recognized for its frigid winters, often plunging to -20 to -30 degrees Celsius," he added.
He pointed out that earlier this month, Vladivostok hosted an exhibition focused on the Ramayana, featuring paintings created by Russian children on various themes from the epic.
"This month, a distinctive exhibition was organized in Vladivostok, showcasing artworks by Russian children based on different themes of the Ramayana, accompanied by a competition. It's truly uplifting to witness the increasing awareness of Indian culture around the world," PM Modi concluded.
