Indian Minorities Federation Celebrates 'Veer Bal Diwas' at Dubai Gurudwara

Dubai, Dec 27 (NationPress) On the momentous occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, the Indian Minorities Federation (IMF) organized a noteworthy event at the Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Temple in Dubai, the first Sikh gurudwara established in the UAE, to honor the lasting sacrifice of the valiant Chhote Sahibzades, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh. Their unwavering stance for their faith and principles against oppression has inspired countless generations, ensuring their legacy remains deeply rooted in the hearts of Indian youth around the globe.
In attendance were prominent leaders from the Sikh community, various members of the Indian Diaspora representing diverse religions, and influential figures from both Indian and international spheres throughout the UAE. Notable dignitaries included Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and convenor of the Indian Minorities Federation, Satnam Singh Sandhu; Yatin Patel, Deputy Consul General; and Surender Singh Kandhari, Chairman of the Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Temple.
During the event, the Veer Bal Diwas Bravery Awards were presented by IMF to 15 exceptional children from the Indian diaspora, representing various communities and religions in the UAE. The aim was to encourage youth to embody the principles of resilience and unity while paying homage to the Chhote Sahibzades, whose unmatched courage and sacrifice resonate universally.
The awardees comprised nine boys and six girls from diverse religious backgrounds, showcasing the spirit of unity and resilience beyond cultural and religious divides. Out of the 15 awardees, 10 are Hindu, three Sikh, one Muslim, and one Jain.
The recipients of the Veer Bal Diwas Bravery Awards included Taksh Jain, Vidyuth Balaji, Jaivardhan Nawani, Abhiraj Manikoth, Aradhya Rai, Vivan Bansal, Anahad Singh, Avi Puri, Gopikha Sivakumar, Kiara Kaur, Adel Eshan Abdul Rahman, Ananya Manikandan, Gurkamal Singh, Akshara Roy, and Sinjini Debnath.
Additionally, an Ardaas (a ceremonial prayer) was conducted to seek blessings for peace, unity, and resilience, followed by a Kirtan performance in remembrance of the Chhote Sahibzades. The IMF also provided Langar as part of the Veer Bal Diwas celebrations.
Members of the Indian Diaspora expressed that by commemorating Veer Bal Diwas, the nation is embarking on a new journey under the leadership of PM Modi, honoring past sacrifices and drawing limitless inspiration from the exemplary bravery of the Chhote Sahibzades.
They stated that Veer Bal Diwas underscores the role of the youth in shaping the nation’s future, and under PM Modi’s guidance, today’s youth are also propelling India forward with the same resolve.
The awardees remarked that with PM Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047, vast opportunities are being created for the country's youth, regardless of religion or caste, with a clear pathway to develop new skills for the 21st century.
They noted that PM Modi’s commitment to the nation motivates them to further contribute to India's development and serve the country with the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas', striving towards the goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Members of the Indian diaspora commended PM Modi’s vision for youth-centric policies and his encouragement for their involvement in all aspects of nation-building. They praised the decision to designate the youth as a vital foundation for Viksit Bharat. Through various initiatives, such as Start-up India, offering internships, and skill development programs, the government aims to fulfill the aspirations of contemporary youth.
Members of the Sikh community in Dubai and the UAE expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the historic decision to celebrate Veer Bal Diwas globally, honoring the heritage of the Sikh Gurus and symbolizing the relentless spirit for the preservation of Bhartiyata.
They emphasized that the Chhote Sahibzades sacrificed their lives for the sake of national unity, and PM Modi appropriately acknowledged their supreme sacrifice by declaring December 26 as Veer Bal Diwas.
The Indo-UAE diaspora, representing various minority communities, conveyed that under PM Modi’s leadership, India has achieved a global standing, instilling pride among the Indian diaspora regarding their own heritage.
They concluded that the Indo-UAE bilateral relationship has reached new heights under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, strengthening ties across various sectors including fintech, clean energy, climate action, food security, digital payments, investments, defense, and cybersecurity.
