The Bravery of Sahibzades: A Cornerstone of India's Democracy, Remembers PM Modi

New Delhi, Dec 26 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Veer Baal Diwas event at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Thursday, where he paid tribute to the two sons of Sikh Guru Gobind Singh ji -- Sahibzades Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji -- who were martyred in the year 1704.
During the event, he also engaged with the Rashtriya Baal Pushkar awardees and launched the 'Suposhit Gram Panchayat Abhiyan' to enhance nutritional outcomes and promote community involvement in health and wellness programs.
In his address, the Prime Minister stated, "Our government designated this date as Veer Baal Diwas three years ago in honor of the martyred Sahibzades. Today, this day serves as a beacon of inspiration for the entire nation."
He praised the valor of Sahibzades Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, recounting their heroic sacrifice at such a young age.
"In spite of the numerous atrocities and temptations presented by the Mughals, they remained steadfast in their faith, even at an early age. They chose to be buried alive rather than betray their principles. Their bravery is the bedrock of our robust democracy," he remarked.
The Prime Minister highlighted the parallels between the teachings of the Sikh Gurus and the Constitution of India, focusing on themes of equality, collective welfare, and national interest.
He pointed out the vital role of India's youth in shaping the nation's future, emphasizing the need to empower them through youth-oriented policies.
"From startups to science, from sports to entrepreneurship, the energy of youth is igniting a new revolution. Our initiatives, such as the National Education Policy, Atal Tinkering Labs, and Mera Yuva Bharat Abhiyan, are crafted to nurture the talents of our young people. The Fit India initiative and Suposhit Gram Panchayat Abhiyan are geared towards realizing a Viksit Bharat," he stated.
PM Modi encouraged the youth to strive for excellence across all sectors, reiterating that their innovations and leadership can help forge a self-reliant Viksit Bharat.
"The aspiration of a 'Viksit Bharat' is within reach, and the success of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' is guaranteed with the active involvement of our youth," he added.
He also called for increased youth engagement in politics, asserting, "The youth of India possess the potential to lead the global arena in every sector. I urge them to take an active role in contemporary politics to infuse new ideas and drive development."
The event concluded with a collective call to achieve new milestones for India, inspired by the courage of the Sahibzades and the promise held by the nation's youth.
Earlier, he interacted with the Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awardees.
The day was dedicated to recognizing young achievers while paying tribute to the martyred Sahibzades for their bravery and sacrifice.
