Chandigarh, Dec 12 (NationPress) Reinforcing the government's dedication to recognizing the extraordinary contributions of Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday launched a virtual essay writing competition for schools across the state in honor of ‘Veer Bal Diwas’.
The initiative is designed to ensure that the legacy of the Sahibzadas’ martyrdom, valor, and unwavering dedication to truth is communicated to every young mind in Haryana.
Thousands of students participated in the virtual event from various districts, during which the Chief Minister engaged with them, inspiring them to contemplate the remarkable lives of the youthful martyrs.
CM Saini stated that understanding the narratives of the Sahibzadas enhances clarity of purpose and fortifies resolve among the students.
He mentioned that the competition is available in four languages — Hindi, English, Punjabi, and Sanskrit — allowing children to express their ideas comfortably and demonstrate their writing skills.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the young Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh — Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh — displayed remarkable bravery at just nine and six years old, respectively. Their sacrifice remains an everlasting symbol of courage and integrity.
He recalled that in 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi designated December 26 each year as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’, ensuring these heroic children are nationally commemorated.
CM Saini encouraged students to understand that accountability and moral bravery are not dictated by age. Every child, he asserted, should perform their duties with integrity, uphold cultural values, and contribute to nation-building.
Students must embrace challenges with courage and recognize that true bravery lies in defending the truth.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the pivotal role of teachers as mentors and architects of the nation.
“Just as Guru Gobind Singh-ji instilled courage and righteousness in his sons, today’s educators shape the thoughts and character of future generations,” he remarked.
He urged teachers to concentrate not only on academic achievements but also on fostering values, discipline, compassion, and integrity in students, as these elements are the bedrock of a robust society.
The Chief Minister stressed that students should learn lessons about discipline, valor, principles, and patriotism from the lives of the Sahibzadas.
