Lima, Dec 13 (NationPress) India has provided 250,000 saline bottles to Peru to assist patients suffering from dehydration, highlighting its role as a credible development ally for the South American nation.

The Indian Ambassador to Peru, Vishvas Sapkal, delivered the donation to Peru's Ministry of Health on Friday (local time).

Several high-ranking officials from Peru, including Alberto Tejada Conroy, Director General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health, Eric Vasquez Calderon, Joint Director of the National Centre for the Supply of Strategic Health Resources (CENARES), and Abel Cardenas, Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed their gratitude for the assistance from the Government of India.

In a notable act of support for its Global South partners, India dispatched 32 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Peru, which includes the 250,000 units of physiological saline solution.

"As Global South partners, we must care for one another -- India has sent 32 tonnes of humanitarian assistance to Peru, comprising 250,000 units of physiological saline solution to aid patients experiencing dehydration," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) shared on X after the shipment.

The relationship between India and Peru has historically been amicable and supportive.
