Intensifying Floods Displace Over 140,000 Residents in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, December 1 (NationPress) The flooding that has struck multiple states in Malaysia has escalated, resulting in 146,522 individuals being compelled to evacuate their residences.
The most severely impacted regions are the eastern coastal states of Kelantan and Terengganu, with evacuations reported at 94,869 in the former and 40,780 in the latter, as per the nation's social welfare department, according to Xinhua news agency.
In Kelantan, some flood relief centers have become inaccessible by road, prompting authorities to utilize helicopters for delivering food and assistance, as stated by Kelantan police chief Mohd Yusoff Mamat.
There have been reports of four fatalities, including one person who suffered electrocution at home. The Energy Commission has issued warnings and safety guidelines regarding electrical hazards during flooding.
