Accra, April 13 (NationPress) The Iranian Embassy in Ghana has publicly condemned US President Donald Trump for labeling Pope Leo XIV as "weak" following the pontiff's prayer for peace.

In a statement shared on X, the embassy highlighted Trump's past actions, including his payment of hush money to an adult film star during his wife's pregnancy, which led to his conviction.

"The Pope prayed for peace. Trump tonight referred to him as 'WEAK' and stated, 'I don’t want a Pope who criticizes me!' Let it be recorded who this man is: He frequented Epstein's island for years and faced 34 felony charges for his actions. His missile struck a school filled with innocent children in Minab, resulting in 168 fatalities," the Iranian Embassy in Ghana expressed on X.

"Just six months ago, he candidly claimed: 'I'M NOT HEAVEN-BOUND'—the most honest statement he has ever made. The Pope lit a candle for your DARK soul. Yet, there are 168 little girls at heaven's gate who arrived there before you, BECAUSE OF YOU! They will be the jury. And they remember your name. THE HELL AWAITS YOU, DON," the statement continued.

This statement followed Trump's harsh critique of Pope Leo XIV in a lengthy social media post, where he accused the pontiff of being "weak on crime" and criticized his foreign policy views, particularly regarding Iran and US domestic matters.

“Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime and detrimental to Foreign Policy,” Trump stated on his Truth Social platform, igniting further tensions between the White House and the Vatican.

Trump mentioned, “He talks about ‘fear’ of the Trump Administration, but fails to acknowledge the FEAR that the Catholic Church experienced during COVID when priests and ministers were arrested for holding church services.”

Trump also took aim at the Pope's stance on Iran, expressing his discontent with what he called leniency.

“I don’t want a Pope who believes it’s acceptable for Iran to possess a Nuclear Weapon,” he asserted.

Additionally, Trump defended US interventions abroad, including actions in Venezuela, linking them to concerns about drug-related crime entering America.

“I don’t want a Pope who believes it’s wrong for America to engage with Venezuela, a country that was sending enormous amounts of drugs into the United States,” he remarked, adding that Venezuela was “emptying their prisons… into our Country.”

The discourse turned personal when Trump compared the Pope unfavorably to his brother.

“I prefer his brother Louis over him because Louis fully understands MAGA. He gets it, while Leo does not!” Trump noted.

In defense of his presidency, Trump cited his electoral victory, crime reduction, and economic achievements.

“I am accomplishing precisely what I was elected to do, IN A LANDSLIDE, achieving Record Low Numbers in Crime and establishing the Greatest Stock Market in History,” he wrote.

In a notable assertion, Trump implied that the Pope's election was somehow linked to his presidency.

“Leo should be grateful because… he was an unexpected choice… If I weren’t in the White House, Leo wouldn’t be in the Vatican,” he claimed.

He also criticized the Pope’s interactions with political figures, specifically targeting former adviser David Axelrod.

“Leo should focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician, and stop catering to the Radical Left,” Trump added.

Pope Leo XIV, who is the first American-born pontiff, has recently voiced his opposition to war, advocating for restraint and dialogue in global conflicts, including those involving Iran.
