Jerusalem, Jan 27 (NationPress) The Israel Police announced on Monday that they have detained two reserve soldiers, both aged 21, on allegations of security violations linked to Iran, in coordination with the Israel Security Agency.

According to the police, the individuals, Yuri Eliasfov and Georgi Andreyev from northern Israel, are accused of leaking classified details regarding the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system to Iranian operatives.

The police further explained that during their military service, the duo undertook assignments for an Iranian agent, which included filming the air defense system, applying graffiti in Tel Aviv and northern Israel, and distributing posters.

As reported by Israel's state-owned Kan TV News, the suspects allegedly received several thousand US dollars from the Iranian handler for their activities, as per Xinhua news agency.

The police stated that the two have confessed to their involvement and will face charges of aiding the enemy in warfare, which can lead to life imprisonment or the death penalty, as well as accusations of contacting a foreign agent and disseminating classified information to a foreign agent.

In a related incident, last month the Hamas militant organization claimed to have detained several Palestinians who were allegedly working with the Israeli intelligence agency, Shin Bet, in the Gaza Strip, providing intelligence on notable Hamas figures.

Hamas' al-Majd internal security forces, associated with the Qassam Brigades, reported that they captured a spy operating for Israel.

One of the apprehended Palestinians reportedly admitted to being tasked by Shin Bet to surveil the residences of Hamas leaders throughout the Strip.

Additionally, it was alleged that they were instructed to monitor any movements of Hamas militants in the region.

The suspects, per Hamas' intelligence unit, were detained after sharing information and documents that were considered highly sensitive.

Hamas also stated that they obtained data identifying all Gazans who were collaborating with Israeli forces.
