Israel Enhances Battlefield Capabilities with New Drone Acquisition: Defence Ministry

Jerusalem, Dec 3 (NationPress) The Defence Ministry of Israel disclosed on Tuesday that it has procured $40 million worth of state-of-the-art drones and autonomous systems from Elbit Systems, an esteemed Israeli weapons and defence manufacturer.

As part of the agreements, Elbit is set to deliver intelligence-gathering drones, mission-specific drones, and mini-drones tailored for precise strikes in urban environments, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

The latest systems boast advanced functionalities and are crafted for a variety of missions, encompassing accurate intelligence collection and targeted operations, the ministry stated, emphasizing that this enhances the military's autonomous combat capabilities on the battlefield.

Since the onset of multi-front conflicts on October 7, 2023, Israel has been actively engaged with adversaries from Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and is undertaking a significant military operation in Gaza.

Throughout this period, Israel has increasingly depended on drones for monitoring and precision strikes to oversee militant activities and execute targeted operations.
