Ukrainian Armed Forces to Acquire Over 30,000 Long-Range Combat Drones in 2025: Defence Minister

Kyiv, Dec 6 (NationPress) The Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing to receive over 30,000 Deep Strike combat drones in 2025, according to Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov.
"These advanced drones are capable of operating independently over extensive distances and can accurately target enemy positions," Umerov mentioned on Thursday via Facebook.
The arrival of these drones is part of the "Resilience Plan" introduced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last month, Umerov highlighted.
He also indicated that a segment of these drones is financed by international allies who have contributed to Ukraine's defense sector, as reported by Xinhua.
The Minister did not specify how these drones will be allocated among Ukrainian forces.
Ukraine is actively enhancing its domestic defense manufacturing capabilities, with a goal to produce 1.5 million drones by the end of 2024.
There exists a "substantial amount" of new and ongoing requests for first-person-view (FPV) drones, reconnaissance drones, long-range drones, and missile drones, as stated by Zelensky on Tuesday.
Kyiv utilizes long-range drones to conduct strikes deep within Russian territory, targeting military facilities such as airfields and logistics centers, along with oil refineries and storage depots.
Earlier this year, Ukrainian officials revealed intentions to manufacture between 1 million and 2 million FPV drones in 2024, in addition to around 10,000 medium-range and over 1,000 long-range combat drones.
