What Did Kanimozhi's Delegation Discuss With Slovenian Leaders Regarding Terrorism?

Ljubljana, May 26 (NationPress) The Indian all-party parliamentary delegation, under the leadership of DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, convened with Slovenian leaders on Monday, emphasizing India's firm position of zero tolerance towards terrorism as part of the global outreach initiative known as Operation Sindoor.

The delegation held discussions with Predrag Bakovic, Chairperson of the Foreign Policy Committee of the National Assembly, and Miroslav Gregoric from the India-Slovenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, articulating India’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and achieving national consensus on this critical issue. The officials from Slovenia expressed their strong condemnation of terrorism, labeling it as pure evil that cannot be justified under any circumstances.

“During our meeting today, as part of an all-party delegation, we engaged with Predrag Bakovic and Miroslav Gregoric. The delegation reaffirmed India's steadfast commitment to a zero tolerance policy against terrorism. The Slovenian authorities expressed solidarity with India and reiterated their unwavering condemnation of terrorism as an act of pure evil that cannot be rationalized. Together, we strive for peace, justice, and global collaboration,” Kanimozhi shared on X.

The delegation also comprised Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Rai, BJP MP Captain Brijesh Chowta (Retd.), RJD MP Prem Chand Gupta, AAP MP Ashok Kumar Mittal, and Former Deputy Permanent Representative of India to the UN, Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri.

During discussions with Vojko Volk, State Secretary and National Coordinator for National and International Security in the Prime Minister's Office, the delegation elaborated on India's 'new normal' of zero tolerance for cross-border terrorism, commending Slovenia’s unequivocal condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack and its support for India in the fight against terrorism.

“It was a privilege to engage with Vojko Volk during our all-party delegation visit to Slovenia. We reiterated India’s unwavering zero tolerance policy on terrorism and appreciated Slovenia’s strong condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack,” Kanimozhi posted on X.

Ashok Mittal also expressed gratitude on social media for Slovenia’s resolute stance against terrorism and their commitment to collaborate with India.

“In Ljubljana, Slovenia, we had a productive meeting with Vojko Volk. Our discussions focused on global peace, counter-terrorism, and strategic cooperation. It was encouraging to see Slovenia’s firm stance against terrorism and their dedication to working alongside India for a more secure future. Diplomacy remains a vital tool in fostering global understanding and coordinated action against terrorism,” Mittal remarked on X.

Earlier on Monday, the delegation received insights from Indian Ambassador to Slovenia Amit Narang regarding India’s relations with Slovenia and its stance against cross-border terrorism.

“India and Slovenia enjoy a warm and friendly relationship grounded in mutual trust and shared values. As a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, Slovenia plays a pivotal role in global discussions on counter-terrorism and the promotion of peace. India's message of national unity on zero tolerance for cross-border terrorism will further enhance bilateral cooperation in combating terrorism worldwide,” the Indian Embassy in Slovenia posted on X.

This delegation is part of India's global diplomatic outreach to stress the importance of Operation Sindoor and India’s ongoing battle against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism, welcomed by Ambassador Narang and Embassy officials upon their arrival in Slovenia.

After a successful visit to Russia, the delegation arrived in Slovenia, reaffirming India's strong position on combating terrorism.
