Geneva, Nov 5 (NationPress) The United Kashmir People’s National Party (UKPNP) has denounced any efforts to integrate Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) into Pakistan's provincial system or its federal governance structure.

In a statement released on X, UKPNP spokesperson Sardar Nasir Aziz Khan emphasized that PoJK and Pakistan-occupied Gilgit Baltistan (PoGB) are historically and legally part of the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that Pakistan lacks any legal jurisdiction over these areas.

"These regions do not constitute constitutional or legal components of Pakistan. Their political and legal status is tied to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, as acknowledged by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions," he asserted.

Khan pointed out that any constitutional or administrative effort to incorporate PoGB or PoJK would be deemed "illegal," warning that such actions would not only contravene United Nations Resolutions and international law but also violate Pakistan's own obligations under the UN framework and the 1949 Karachi Agreement.

"Pakistan holds no legal authority over the State of Jammu and Kashmir, having invaded on October 22, 1947. It has no right to unilaterally dictate the future of territories under its control. The United Kashmir People’s National Party (UKPNP) has consistently rejected the imposed division, fragmentation, or unilateral decisions affecting the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The party will never accept or tolerate such unlawful and expansionist maneuvers," he stated on X.

"Now is the time for all Kashmiris to unite against occupation, exploitation, and injustice, while urging the United Nations and the international community to advocate for their fundamental right to freedom and reunification. The State of Jammu and Kashmir possesses its own rich history, culture, identity, along with United Nations Resolutions, European Parliament Resolutions, and various other significant UN reports. No one has the authority to erase our history, culture, identity, values, or to occupy our land and natural resources," he added.

Earlier in September, violent clashes erupted in Muzaffarabad in PoJK, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to 22 others during protests against the occupying Pakistani government. Reports indicated that groups supported by the Pakistani army and the ISI-backed Muslim Conference opened fire on citizens demanding their basic rights in PoJK.

Footage of the violence circulated on social media, showcasing chaos on the streets. In one video, an individual was seen firing into the air while others climbed atop vehicles surrounded by demonstrators waving flags and chanting slogans. Another video featured a protester displaying a handful of spent bullet casings.

Residents in PoJK observed a shutter-down and wheel-jam strike following a call from the Public Action Committee, which has presented a 38-point charter of demands, local media reported. Markets and transportation services shut down while communication services faced disruptions amid growing dissatisfaction among residents regarding unmet demands.

Commercial centers, markets, and lorry depots in Muzaffarabad remained closed, and there was no traffic on the roads, as reported by Pakistan's leading channel Samaa TV. The Public Action Committee highlighted a 38-point charter of demands, which includes ending the 12 reserved seats for refugees and revoking privileges enjoyed by the elite.
