Kuwait City, Feb 28 (NationPress) On Saturday, Kuwait issued a strong denunciation of the "atrocious Iranian assault" on its territory, deeming it a "blatant infringement" of the nation's sovereignty and airspace.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait declared that the country will implement all essential actions to safeguard its land.

According to an official statement, "The Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the profound condemnation of the heinous Iranian attack that occurred this morning, Saturday, February 28, 2026. This act represents a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and airspace of the State of Kuwait, as well as a breach of international law and the UN Charter."

"The Ministry asserts Kuwait's complete and inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter in response to this blatant aggression, in a manner proportional to the scale and nature of the attack and consistent with international law. We will take all necessary measures to protect our territory, citizens, and residents while ensuring the preservation of our sovereignty, security, and stability," it added.

Kuwait's Foreign Ministry further stated that the country's defenses have "successfully" countered this aggression following established operational protocols and rules of engagement. It warned that the ongoing military actions in the region could jeopardize regional security and stability.

In a related event, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) confirmed the successful interception of multiple Iranian missiles directed at its territory on the same day.

The UAE Ministry of Defence reported that the country faced a "shameless attack" involving Iranian ballistic missiles, which were effectively managed by the UAE's air defense systems, ensuring that the security situation remains stable.

It noted that debris from the missiles fell in a residential area of Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and resulting in the death of an Asian national.

The UAE Ministry of Defence stated, "Today, the United Arab Emirates was subjected to a brazen attack with Iranian ballistic missiles, which our air defenses successfully intercepted. The relevant authorities managed the debris fallout in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, leading to material damage and the tragic loss of life of an individual of Asian descent."

"The competent authorities confirm that the security situation in the country is under control, with all relevant parties monitoring developments continuously. The Ministry condemned this attack in the strongest terms, emphasizing the country's absolute rejection of targeting civilian facilities, installations, and national institutions. Such acts represent a dangerous escalation and cowardice that threaten civilian safety and undermine stability," the statement continued.

Additionally, Abu Dhabi reiterated that this targeting constitutes a "flagrant violation" of national sovereignty and international law, asserting that the country retains the full right to respond to this escalation and take all necessary actions to defend its territory, citizens, and residents, ensuring the preservation of its sovereignty, security, and stability while safeguarding its interests and national capabilities.

The Ministry emphasized its high alertness and readiness to counter any threats, stating that it is taking all necessary actions to firmly address any attempts to disrupt the country’s security and stability. The safety of citizens, residents, and visitors remains a top priority that cannot be compromised. The Ministry urges the public to obtain information from official sources and to refrain from spreading rumors or unverified information," the statement concluded.

In a separate statement, US President Donald Trump announced early Saturday that US forces are engaged in a "massive and ongoing" offensive against Iran aimed at "destroying their missiles and obliterating their missile industry."

"The United States military is conducting a massive and ongoing operation... We will annihilate their missiles and dismantle their missile industry," he stated in a video message posted on his social media platform Truth Social.
