Amman, Dec 16 (NationPress) In a notable display of hospitality, Crown Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II personally drove Prime Minister Narendra Modi to The Jordan Museum on Tuesday. The Crown Prince belongs to the 42nd generation of direct descendants of Prophet Mohammad.

In a post on X, PM Modi shared images from the journey, stating, "On the way to The Jordan Museum with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II."

The Jordan Museum is dedicated to safeguarding and showcasing the country's rich cultural heritage. It serves as an educational hub, employing various engaging methods to disseminate knowledge. This information is consistently updated through ongoing research covering all aspects of the museum, which tells the story of 1.5 million years of Jordanian history and archaeology.

Earlier that day, PM Modi discussed the results of his visit to Jordan, describing them as a "meaningful expansion" of the relationship between the two nations.

On Monday, PM Modi held discussions with King Abdullah II of Jordan at the Al Husseiniya Palace, proposing that both nations strive to increase bilateral trade to USD 5 billion.

Furthermore, PM Modi advocated for collaboration between Jordan's digital payment system and India's United Payments Interface (UPI).

During this visit, both parties finalized Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in various sectors, including culture, renewable energy, water management, digital public infrastructure, and a twinning arrangement between Petra and Ellora.

On X, PM Modi remarked, "These outcomes signify a meaningful expansion of the India-Jordan partnership. Our collaboration in new and renewable energy reflects a mutual commitment to clean growth, energy security, and climate responsibility."

He also noted that cooperation in managing water resources will enable both nations to exchange best practices in conservation, efficiency, and technology, ensuring long-term water security.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the Twinning Agreement between Petra and Ellora would create new opportunities for heritage conservation, tourism, and academic exchanges.

"The renewal of the Cultural Exchange Programme (2025-2029) will enhance people-to-people connections. Sharing our digital innovations will aid Jordan's digital transformation and foster inclusive governance," PM Modi added.

These agreements are poised to significantly strengthen India-Jordan bilateral relations and friendship.

Additionally, during their meeting, both leaders exchanged views on regional developments and other global issues, reiterating the importance of restoring peace and stability.

PM Modi reaffirmed India's commitment to supporting efforts for achieving lasting peace in the region.

PM Modi arrived in Amman on Monday afternoon, marking the beginning of his three-nation tour, also including visits to Ethiopia and Oman—countries with which India shares both historical ties and extensive contemporary relations.

In a special gesture, Jordanian Prime Minister Jafar Hassan welcomed PM Modi at the airport upon his arrival for a two-day visit at the invitation of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein. This marks PM Modi's first comprehensive bilateral visit to Jordan; he had previously transited through the country in February 2018 while en route to the State of Palestine.
