Nine Fatalities Reported in Armed Incidents in Ecuador

Quito, Dec 6 (NationPress) A minimum of nine individuals have tragically died in two separate armed incidents in Ecuador.
On Thursday, law enforcement confirmed the retrieval of six male corpses aged between 17 and 25, all found in a stacked position.
Local news sources indicated that several of the bodies were bound and displayed signs of gunshot wounds. Authorities have transported the remains to a forensic facility in the coastal city of Manta, Manabi, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
On Wednesday evening, three members of the same family were fatally shot in the city of Bahia de Caraquez, located in Sucre canton, Manabi.
Manabi, an important area for drug trafficking along Ecuador's Pacific coastline, has been experiencing escalating violence in 2024, with many incidents attributed to organized crime, according to police.
In reaction, the government has mobilized police and military forces to confront criminal organizations in regions of conflict. President Daniel Noboa declared an 'internal armed conflict' in January against 22 criminal gangs identified as 'terrorist.'
