Tehran, June 21 (NationPress) The recent Israeli aggression against Iran has resulted in the loss of over 400 Iranian lives and left 3,056 individuals injured, as reported on Saturday by Hossein Kermanpour, the head of public relations at the Iranian Health Ministry.
"Out of the injured, 2,220 individuals have been treated and released from hospitals operated by the Ministry of Health, while 232 received immediate outpatient care at the sites of the assaults," Kermanpour shared via a post on the social media platform X.
The health official noted that the overwhelming majority of the casualties are civilians, with 54 women and children among those who lost their lives due to the Israeli bombardments.
As the conflict escalates, the Iranian Red Crescent Society reported earlier today that one of its rescue helicopters sustained damage in a malicious Israeli attack.
Israel initiated a series of extensive airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear and military installations on June 13, which resulted in the deaths of numerous high-ranking commanders and nuclear scientists. In retaliation, Iran conducted missile and drone strikes on Israeli territory, according to reports from Xinhua news agency.
Additionally, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed responsibility for the deaths of three senior Iranian commanders during overnight operations.
Among those killed was Saeed Izadi, the commander of the Palestine Corps within the Quds Force, part of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as stated by the IDF.
Izadi was a crucial link between Iran and Hamas, and was killed in an airstrike in Iran's Qom province, the IDF reported.
"Izadi was instrumental in increasing financial support from Iran to Hamas for operations against Israel," the statement detailed. "He was also a key planner of the October 7 massacre, and one of the few who had prior knowledge of the event."
The IDF also reported that its air force eliminated Behnam Shahriyari, the commander of the Quds Force's weapons transfer unit in western Iran.
The IDF's statement highlighted that Shahriyari was responsible for facilitating "weapons transfers from Iran to its proxies" across the Middle East.
"He oversaw the transfer of hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars annually to various terrorist organizations, using a network of shell companies, money changers, and couriers," the statement elaborated.
Earlier on Saturday, the IDF confirmed that its air force struck and killed Aminpour Joudaki in southwestern Iran. Joudaki was the commander of the second unmanned aerial vehicle brigade of the IRGC Air Force.
