Prime Minister Modi Makes Historic Visit to Kuwait

Kuwait City, Dec 21 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kuwait on Saturday afternoon, making history as the first Indian Prime Minister to set foot in the Gulf nation in 43 years.
The Prime Minister was greeted with a magnificent welcome as he commenced his two-day visit, extended at the invitation of the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. This visit is anticipated to elevate India's close relations with the Gulf nations to new heights.
Following his arrival, PM Modi will receive a ceremonial guard of honour at the Bayan Palace. He will then engage in discussions with both the Amir and the Crown Prince of Kuwait.
Subsequently, delegation-level talks are scheduled with the Prime Minister of Kuwait, during which they will explore the full range of bilateral relations, covering key areas such as politics, trade, investment, energy, culture, and people-to-people connections, alongside the actions necessary to further strengthen these ties.
The Crown Prince will host a banquet in honour of the Indian Prime Minister, who is also set to interact with the Indian diaspora at a community gathering and visit a labour camp. Additionally, PM Modi will participate as a special guest at the opening ceremony of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup, hosted by the Amir of Kuwait.
"Today, I am embarking on a two-day visit to Kuwait at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait. We hold the historical relationship with Kuwait in high regard, cultivated over generations. We are not only robust partners in trade and energy but also share a mutual interest in peace, security, stability, and prosperity within the West Asia region," the Prime Minister stated in his departure remarks earlier today.
"This visit presents an opportunity to outline a roadmap for a forward-looking partnership that will benefit our peoples and the region as a whole. I am keenly looking forward to meeting the Indian diaspora in Kuwait, who have made significant contributions to strengthening the bonds of friendship between our two nations," he added.
PM Modi expressed his belief that his visit will further solidify and reinforce the special ties and friendships that exist between the people of India and Kuwait.
