Qatar Continues to Suspend Mediation Efforts for Gaza Ceasefire

Doha, Dec 4 (NationPress) A representative from Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the nation’s efforts to mediate a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel remain on hold.
Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari addressed the situation during a weekly media briefing on Tuesday, saying, "Qatar maintains its suspension of mediation efforts pending both parties' seriousness in returning to the negotiation table."
He clarified that the suspension pertains "solely to the mediation process itself," while indicating that regional communications and collaborations continue without interruption, according to reports from Xinhua news agency.
Despite the halt in mediation, Al Ansari emphasized Qatar's ongoing dedication to de-escalation and humanitarian assistance for Gaza.
"Officials are engaged in daily communications with counterparts... The focus remains on delivering aid to those in need in Gaza and supporting the ongoing de-escalation in Lebanon," he remarked.
