Russia Uncovers Global Fraud Operation Tied to Ex-Georgian Defense Chief

Moscow, Dec 10 (NationPress) The Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) announced that it has successfully dismantled a global fraud scheme purportedly operating in the interest of Davit Kezerashvili, the former Minister of Defence of Georgia.

This network comprised of call centres was part of a broader international organized crime syndicate, engaging in extensive fraud targeting individuals from the European Union, Canada, Brazil, India, and various other nations, as reported by the Xinhua news agency citing the FSB.

The perpetrators misled victims under the pretense of facilitating investment transactions, generating around $1 million in daily profits, according to the statement. Approximately 100,000 victims across more than 50 countries fell prey to this fraudulent scheme.

Furthermore, the FSB has detained 11 individuals associated with this case, and investigations and operational efforts are currently ongoing.
