Madrid, March 10 (NationPress) Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez emphasized the necessity for Europe to bolster its self-reliance in defence, highlighting the continent's security interests amid evolving geopolitical circumstances.
During a meeting of the Socialist Party on Sunday in Santiago de Compostela, located in north-west Spain, Sanchez pointed out the pressing need for Europe to assume greater responsibility for its own security, particularly in light of strained relations with the United States following the return of Donald Trump to the presidency, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
“Based on recent events, it is prudent for us to be more self-sufficient and rely less on external influences,” Sanchez remarked.
