Washington, March 9 (NationPress) A seventh American service member has succumbed to injuries received during attacks associated with the escalating conflict with Iran, as reported by the US military. This tragic event raises the total number of US military fatalities in the ongoing war to seven.

According to the US Central Command, the service member was critically injured during an attack on US forces stationed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on March 1 and later succumbed to those injuries. The identity of the deceased soldier is being kept confidential until next of kin are notified.

“A US service member has passed away from injuries sustained during the initial Iranian regime attacks across the Middle East,” CENTCOM stated in a recent update, noting that “major combat operations are ongoing.”

This latest casualty underscores the increasing toll of the conflict, which has expanded across various fronts in the Middle East since late February.

As reported by The New York Times, the service member was severely injured during an Iranian assault on a Saudi military installation where American troops were deployed and died after being evacuated for medical treatment.

The Washington Post also noted that the soldier was “seriously wounded at the scene of an attack on US troops in Saudi Arabia on March 1,” referencing US Central Command.

In a separate incident, the US Department of War confirmed the death of a National Guard officer stationed in Kuwait during the same timeframe.

Maj. Sorffly Davius, 46, from Cambria Heights, Queens, New York, tragically passed away on March 6 at Camp Buehring in Kuwait, which officials described as a non-combat-related incident.

The Pentagon stated that Davius “died on March 6, 2026, in Camp Buehring, Kuwait, due to a non-combat-related incident.” He was part of the Headquarters, Headquarters Battalion, 42nd Infantry Division based in Troy, New York.

US Central Command informed that the death occurred during a medical emergency, with the exact cause still under investigation.

“A US National Guard soldier died as a result of a health-related incident in Kuwait on March 6 during a medical emergency. The precise cause of death is currently under review,” CENTCOM mentioned.

The fatalities arise as tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States are intensifying across the region, with military positions and strategic infrastructures being targets of attacks and counterattacks.

The Wall Street Journal reported that this latest death followed injuries sustained during an attack in Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

Since late February, the conflict has escalated rapidly, as strikes and counterstrikes between Iran and Israel have drawn US forces stationed throughout the region into the fray.

US officials have indicated that Iranian retaliatory strikes have targeted military installations housing American troops in multiple nations. Military leaders have cautioned that the risk of further casualties remains significantly elevated as operations persist.
