South Korea: Commander of Army Special Warfare Alleges Yoon Instructed Him to Remove Legislators

Seoul, Dec 10 (NationPress) The leader of South Korea's Army Special Warfare Command asserted on Tuesday that he received orders from President Yoon Suk Yeol to forcibly remove lawmakers from the National Assembly building amid martial law operations that occurred last week.
Lieutenant General Kwak Jong-keun made this assertion during a meeting of the parliamentary defense committee, revealing that Yoon contacted him via a secured line.
"He mentioned that the quorum did not seem to be met, so I was instructed to break down the doors, enter, and drag out the individuals inside," he recounted.
Kwak further informed Park Beom-kye from the primary Opposition Democratic Party that he was aware of Yoon's intentions to declare martial law two days prior, specifically on December 1, as reported by Yonhap news agency.
"Commander Kwak did not disclose to the prosecution that he had prior knowledge," Park commented. "He stated he refrained from testifying because those involved in the martial law activities had already coordinated their statements."
