South Korea Expresses Optimism for 'Peace and Stability' in Syria After the Fall of Assad's Regime

Seoul, Dec 10 (NationPress) On Tuesday, South Korea expressed its optimism for the end of violence and the establishment of peace and stability in Syria after the recent downfall of the Assad family's regime, which lasted for over fifty years.

According to a report from Yonhap news agency, rebel forces successfully ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government on Sunday, concluding a brutal 13-year civil war and effectively ending the Assad family's longstanding dictatorship.

A spokesperson from the foreign ministry remarked, 'We see this change as an opportunity and hope that all violence will cease in Syria, allowing the Syrian people to move towards peace and stability.'

The spokesperson hailed the regime's fall as a significant progress that the Syrian populace has long awaited.

It is noteworthy that South Korea does not maintain formal diplomatic relations with Syria and currently has no known citizens residing in the country.
