Suicide Attack in Kabul Claims Life of Afghan Acting Minister

Kabul, Dec 11 (NationPress) Khalil Rahman Haqqani, Afghanistan's Acting Minister for Refugees and Repatriation, lost his life in a suicide bombing that took place inside the ministry on Wednesday, according to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior.
In a statement issued by Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, it was said, "We have received with great sadness the news that the minister of refugees, Khalil Rahman Haqqani, was martyred this afternoon in a ferocious attack by the Khawarij (enemy)."
Furthermore, the statement noted, "Haqqani was part of a prominent jihadi family. The enemies of Islam had placed a $5 million bounty on his head for his assassination."
In total, four individuals, including the acting minister, were killed, while four others, including Haqqani's security personnel, sustained serious injuries as a result of the attack, an official from the Ministry of Interior informed Xinhua news agency.
In the aftermath, security forces have cordoned off all access routes to the ministry, and strict measures are currently being enforced in the area.
No group or individual has yet taken responsibility for this heinous act.
