Teenage Boy Charged by Australian Authorities After Break-In Investigations

Sydney, Dec 7 (NationPress) Australian authorities have charged a 16-year-old boy with one count each of robbery, serious assault of an individual aged over 60, receipt of tainted property, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle after conducting investigations related to various break-ins.

In a statement, police from Queensland revealed that two boys reportedly approached a complex in Smithfield, a suburb of Cairns within the Cairns Region, Queensland, and managed to enter several units, stealing numerous items before fleeing around 4 a.m. local time on Saturday morning, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

Furthermore, they are alleged to have assaulted an 86-year-old man who was present in one of the units. Fortunately, the man did not sustain serious injuries and received an assessment from paramedics at the scene, according to the police.

The 16-year-old is scheduled to appear in children's court on Monday, and police investigations are ongoing.
