Washington, Oct 13 (NationPress) US President Donald Trump has conveyed his desire to mediate the ongoing border conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan, asserting that he possesses the ability to resolve this dispute, similar to the other conflicts he claims to have resolved.
These remarks were made as he traveled to Egypt for a summit focused on the Gaza peace process, which is expected to mark the conclusion of a two-year-long conflict in the Middle East, claiming this to be the eighth war he has successfully managed.
During a press briefing, Trump stated, "This will be the eighth war I've resolved, and I've learned there is currently a conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan."
"I mentioned that I would need to wait until my return. I am involved in another situation. After all, I excel in resolving wars," he added, noting that long-standing conflicts were settled 'relatively quickly' under his administration.
"Consider the issues between India and Pakistan. Reflect on the wars that persisted for years... We had one lasting 31 years, another for 32 years, and one for 37 years, with millions of fatalities in every nation, and I managed to conclude each of those, for the most part, within a single day. That’s quite impressive," Trump remarked.
Regarding the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, Trump commented, "I didn't pursue this for the Nobel. My goal was to save lives."
"The individual who received the Nobel Prize contacted me today, stating, 'I accept this in your honor, because you truly deserved it.' I've been supporting her throughout her journey," he added.
Trump highlighted various international conflicts that he claimed were resolved during his presidency, including those involving Armenia and Azerbaijan, Kosovo and Serbia, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, as well as Rwanda and Congo.
