Washington, Jan 30 (NationPress) President Donald Trump convened the inaugural Cabinet meeting of his second year to assert significant advancements in economic, security, and foreign policy, branding the previous year as “the most successful year of any administration in American history.”

In the Cabinet Room, Trump expressed gratitude to his team for what he termed “12 months of unparalleled achievements,” highlighting record economic growth, declining crime rates, stringent border security, and strides in global diplomatic efforts.

“You may have noticed that the Cabinet Room is becoming more and more exquisite,” Trump remarked as he commenced the gathering. “It has never looked this magnificent, and I hope our work will be unprecedented as well.”

Trump emphasized that the U.S. economy exhibited record figures despite political challenges. “We truly have unprecedented economic growth,” he stated, noting that growth could have been more pronounced had it not been for the shutdown.”

Referencing federal statistics, Trump claimed a significant drop in violent crime. “Recent reports indicate that the murder rate has seen the largest decrease ever recorded,” he noted, calling it “the lowest it has been in at least 125 years.”

He partly attributed this decline to immigration enforcement, declaring, “For the past eight months, we had zero illegal entries into our country. It’s hard for even me to believe.”

Discussing Venezuela, Trump remarked on improved relations with the nation’s leadership. “We are on very good terms with them,” he said, adding that American oil companies are exploring opportunities and that commercial airspace over Venezuela will be reopened. “Soon, American citizens will be able to safely travel to Venezuela,” he assured.

Trump highlighted robust economic indicators, referencing the Atlanta Federal Reserve’s projections. “The Atlanta Fed anticipates a remarkable 5.4% GDP growth in the fourth quarter,” he mentioned, attributing this growth to tariffs and tax reductions.

He noted that stock markets have reached unprecedented heights. “The S&P has surpassed 7,000 for the first time,” Trump said, adding that markets have gained “$9 trillion in value” since the election.

Trump asserted that tariffs have spurred domestic investment and manufacturing. “Companies are returning from Mexico, Canada, and Japan,” he declared. “They are establishing operations here to evade the tariffs.”

Cabinet members supported the President’s claims. Treasury Secretary Scott Bassent stated that the administration is witnessing benefits from what Trump commonly referred to as the “one big, beautiful bill,” mentioning investment inflows and decreasing inflation rates.

On healthcare, Trump discussed partnerships with pharmaceutical companies to reduce prescription drug expenses. “Prices for prescription medications will decrease by 80 to 90 percent,” he claimed, labeling this initiative as “one of the greatest achievements we’ve had in a long time.”

He also acknowledged advancements in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Trump claimed the U.S. has played a role in securing the return of hostages and noted diplomatic momentum regarding Ukraine. “We believe we have made significant progress,” he said, referencing discussions with Russian and Ukrainian leaders.

Trump disclosed that he personally urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to suspend attacks during severe cold spells. “I personally requested President Putin not to strike Kyiv and other towns for a week,” he said. “And he consented.”

Energy policy was a focal point, with Trump and senior officials underscoring increased production of oil, gas, and coal. “U.S. oil output currently exceeds that of Saudi Arabia and Russia combined,” Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated.

Trump also brought up issues related to housing and disaster recovery, sharply criticizing state and local officials in California for delays in rebuilding after wildfires. “They want to rebuild, but they still can’t obtain permits,” he remarked, announcing that EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin would supervise federal permitting processes.

As the meeting concluded, Trump commended his Cabinet and reaffirmed the administration's commitment to its agenda. “My Cabinet has been remarkable,” he concluded. “We are excelling.”
