Washington, Jan 10 (NationPress) President Donald Trump indicated that he anticipates a meeting with representatives from Venezuela’s current government shortly, marking a potential diplomatic opening after recent U.S. maneuvers and a transformation in the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

During a press briefing on Friday, Trump mentioned that conversations with Venezuelan figures are likely to occur soon, although a specific date has not been established.

“I will be meeting with various representatives of Venezuela, probably pretty soon,” Trump expressed.

He noted that the connection between Washington and Venezuela’s current leaders has seen notable improvement.

“The relationship that we have with the people that are currently running Venezuela is very good,” Trump stated.

Trump elaborated that the United States is engaging directly with Venezuelan authorities in a manner that seeks to prevent further escalation.

“We’re dealing with the people from Venezuela,” he affirmed. “We’re managing it very well.”

He suggested that recent U.S. military actions and pressure have established leverage that mitigated further conflict.

“Frankly, that whole place could have been obliterated with one more strike, and we didn’t want to do that,” Trump remarked.

When questioned about welcoming Venezuela’s interim leader to the White House to discuss oil and economic matters, Trump confirmed that meetings with Venezuelan officials are likely as part of a broader outreach.

“I’m going to meet a lot of people,” he added.

Trump also confirmed that a notable Venezuelan opposition figure, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, is expected to visit Washington soon.

“We also have a young lady that received the Nobel Peace Prize,” Trump stated. “She’s going to come in and pay her respects to our country.”

He indicated that this visit could take place within days.

“She’s coming in sometime next week, I think Tuesday or Wednesday,” Trump noted.

Trump mentioned that any discussions regarding Venezuela’s political trajectory would follow direct engagement.

“I’ll have to speak to her,” he said. “She might be involved in some aspect of it.”

The president emphasized that the administration’s approach is intended to be thoughtful and measured to avert chaos.

“We don’t want to see destabilization in the country,” he reiterated, reflecting sentiments earlier expressed by senior administration officials.

Trump portrayed U.S. actions as fostering optimism in the region.

“Everyone’s going to be happy in South America,” Trump predicted. “What we’ve done is, some people would say it’s a miracle.”

He remarked that Venezuela’s response to recent developments has been favorable.

“And Venezuela’s happy,” Trump concluded.

Trump underscored that U.S. engagement will prioritize stability and cooperation over conflict.

“We’re dealing with them very smartly,” he stated.
